What you want
Like all activities, the trading of agricultural produce is becoming more responsive, more fluid and better quality as its business rules are automated.
BS FARMING and MAC POM have therefore decided to invest in software that optimises the sending of commercial offers and improves the management of order tracking and logistics.
An increasingly digitised commercial activity
BS Farming and Mac Pom have developed CROPSTRADER, a software package that optimises and automates the sending of offers for potatoes, onions, sweet potatoes and carrots.
From a database bringing together customers, producers and referenced batch, Cropstrader « match » algorithms, the specific requirements of each customer in terms of variety, size, quality, price, certification, etc. with the corresponding characteristics of each batch.
The computerisation of trading activities also enables BS Farming and Mac Pom to ensure the traceability of production, from the plots from which it was harvested to the place of delivery, including the type of storage provided and the anti-sprouting agent used.
Commercial responsiveness, a sense of service, irreplaceable values
The contribution of IT is essential to offer each customer the products they are interested in every week, in the quality and at the price they want. However, the commitment of buyers, sellers and the entire BS Farming and Mac Pom back office remains decisive in ensuring that customers’ expectations are met in all other respects.
Each stage in the marketing of batches provides an opportunity for the men and women of BS Farming and Mac Pom to demonstrate their commitment, their sense of service and to contribute to the satisfaction of their customers.
Batch referencing, frying tests for crisp varieties, rapid order confirmations, efficient transmission of information to both customers and producers, supply of export certificates, logistical assistance, load monitoring… every day the BS Farming and Mac Pom teams are committed.
Fresh, crisp and frozen food markets in France, throughout Europe and abroad
Of the 70,000 tonnes of potatoes, onions and sweet potatoes sold each year by BS Farming and Mac Pom, most are sold on the European fresh produce markets, on the open market, to packers who package them or to wholesalers who distribute them. Harvest or annual contracts can also be arranged.
Nearly 30,000 tonnes are sold to the food industry, mainly for crisps and chips, and frozen vegetables such as sweet potatoes.
For chip and fry manufacturers, BS Farming and Mac Pom set up production programmes to meet annual delivery contracts.
Frying tests are carried out before consignments of potatoes are sent to the crisps industry, to meet the specific specifications for their manufacture.
Global GAP, GRASP, BIO certifications
BS Farming and Mac Pom offer potatoes, onions and sweet potatoes with the certifications required by supermarkets and the food industry.
Of course, this also includes ensuring that batches comply with current standards (notably the absence of CIPC treatment). BS Farming and Mac Pom have even gone so far as to equip themselves with new palox containers free of CIPC residues. Batch plot sheets can also be supplied on request. Global Gap and Grasp-certified lots are indicated as such in the offer submitted each week.
Market price or contract price
BS Farming and Mac Pom sell both batches offered at market prices and batches from harvests contracted for the year. Whether you are a packer or a manufacturer, BS Farming and Mac Pom can offer you production contracts for the varieties of your choice, with monthly delivery schedules at agreed prices.
